Helen Lucile Dixon, 105, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Lacoba Homes, Inc. in Monett, MO. Helen was born in Bolivar, MO on Friday, June 28, 1912. She was the daughter of Robert L. and Jesse May (Tindle) Manuel. Helen Manuel married Charles Dixon in Kansas City, MO on September 1, 1934. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1992. Charles and Helen started the Monett Chicken Hatchery and later moved to Springfield, MO where she was employed with the Missouri State Employment Agency for many years. Mrs. Dixon was a member of the First United Methodist Church, PEO Sisterhood, Eastern Star, and the Hawthorne Club. Surviving are the following: her two daughters, Janet Gray of Monett, MO and Ann Dixon of Fayetteville, AR; two grandchildren, Candace Dixon-Horne and Jeffrey Gray; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by one grandson, Jon Gray, in 2007. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, September 15, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Monett, MO. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastors Brian Smith and Jimmie Copley officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO. Memorial donations may be made to Loaves and Fishes.
