March 3, 1937 - July 27, 2011

Dwight Severs, age 74, of Pierce City, MO died on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at his home near Pierce City, MO. Dwight Severs was born in Noel, MO on Wednesday, March 03, 1937. He was the son of Russell D. and Lola (Pigg) Severs. Mr. Severs married Laura Rose Wecker on July 18, 1953, and she preceded him in death on August 22, 2010. He was a well known farmer and logger and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving are the following: his two daughters, Brenda McCracken of Monett, MO and Laura Wrobleski of Pierce City, MO; one son, Greg Severs of Monett, MO; two sisters, Ann Taylor of Miller, MO and Nina Rios of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Mr. Severs was preceded in death by his mother, father, and six brothers-Russell, Joe , Ed, John, Gene, and Frank, and great-grandson-Greyson Shelfer. The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Monday, August 01, 2011, from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Funeral mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO on Tuesday, August 02, 2011, beginning at 10:30 AM with Father Peter J. Morciniec officiating. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery near Sarcoxie, MO.
