Dorothy Yonker Borusheski

November 26, 1916 - February 26, 2020

Dorothy Yonker Borusheski at the age of 103 passed away at the home of her daughter Beth Brennan of Salt Lake City, Utah on February 26, 2020. Dorothy was born in Pulaskifield, Missouri on November 26, 1916 to Walter and Helen (Kokorski) Yonker. Dorothy married Tony Borusheski on September 14, 1938, and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1986. Dorothy was also preceded in death by their infant daughter Joan Marie, three brothers, Steve Yonker, Larry Yonker, Joe Yonker and a sister Ophelia Yonker Kastens. Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of a long healthy life of being a great mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an exceptional gardener and was the happiest working with her flowers by planting, growing and nurturing them. Dorothy loved dancing, especially waltzes and polka music. One of her favorite television shows was Lawrence Welk, and also listening to country music. Dorothy was a very good cook and loved to make pies and all kinds of desserts. She always made sure there was something special to eat when family and friends came to visit. Dorothy was a life-long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City where she was a member of the Altar Society. Dorothy is survived by her three children: Elizabeth (Betty) Brennan of Salt Lake City, Utah, Robert (Bob) Borusheski (wife Jeannette) of Kansas City, Missouri and Gary Boursheski (wife Barbara) of Dublin Georgia. six grandchildren: Robyn Galbos Walton (husband Jeffrey) of Portland, Oregon, Julie Molema (husband Peter) of Ketchum, Idaho, Angela Glotstein (husband Mark) of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Dr. Robert Borsheski (wife Dr. Betsy) of Columbia, Missouri, Ryan Boursheski of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Blake Boursheski of Dublin, Georgia, four great-grandchildren: Olivia and Violet Borsheski of Columbia, Missouri and Harrison and Gabrielle Glotstein of Lee's Summit, Missouri. Dorothy is also survived by many loving friends, nieces and nephews and neighbors, especially a dear friend Cindy Bricco of Aurora, Missouri. Visitation services will be held at the Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City on Friday, March 6th from 6pm - 8:30pm. Celebration of Life services will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, March 7th at 10:30am followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Pierce City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Dorothy's memory to St. Mary's School.
