Carolyn June Tish, age 67, of Pierce City, MO died on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center in Sarcoxie, MO. She was born in Grinnell, IA on Sunday, March 16, 1952. She was the daughter of Virgil and Marion (Foster) Johnson. Miss Johnson was married to Laverne Tish on Friday, February 10, 1989 in Eureka Springs, AR. Mrs. Tish graduated from Grinnell High School in Iowa. She spent many years driving a truck with her husband where she enjoyed seeing various parts of the country. Mrs. Tish enjoyed crocheting and going to garage sales to purchase crafts that she would later complete. Mrs. Tish played cards with anyone but especially with her grandchildren. She liked to work in her flower beds and helped her husband with the gardening. She enjoyed her family and loved being with the grandchildren. Surviving are the following: her husband, Laverne of the home; four daughters, Wendy Douglas of Powderly, TX, Sharon Wurm of Fort Wayne, IN, Cheryl Hamilton of Grinnell, IA, and Teresa Williams of Brooklyn, IA; four sons, Tim Cubbage of Powderly, TX, Ernie Cubbage of Belle Plaine, IA, Willie Cubbage of Texarkana, AR; and Daniel Tish of Brooklyn, IA; three sisters, Cathie Rose, Grinnell, IA, Cheryle Campbell of Numa, IA, and Linda Spencer of West Des Moines, IA; thirteen grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. Tish was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Charlotte Stevens & Connie Spicer. The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Then, she will be cremated at her request. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
